BOTOX
A picture of a women getting a botox injection
Botox is an injection that uses a toxin called Botulinum toxin to prevent a muscle from moving for a limited time. These injections are often used to smooth wrinkles on the face.

Botox or Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin. It is made up of the same toxin that causes a type of food poisoning called botulism. The injections block specific chemical signals from the nerves that cause your muscles to contract or move.

Forms of purified botulinum toxin used by licensed health care providers meet medical control standards. These standards were approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. If used correctly, the bacteria toxins used for medical purposes are not harmful.

Head (migraines), forehead, crow’s feet, eyelids, 11 lines, undereye, TMJ muscle, downturned smile, gummy smile, lips (lip flip), neck, jawline, trap muscles, underarms, hands, and feet.

Botox injections are usually not very painful. We use a very small gentle needle which gives optimal results for a more comfortable treatment. Multiple injections will be made in the treatment area.

On day 2 after your botox you may start to feel and see a change. At week 2, you will have your final results.

Depending on your metabolism, your botox should last anywhere from 2-4 months.

Depending on your genetics, its usually recommended to start botox mid 20’s to early 30’s.

After your botox:

  • No gym for 24 hours
  • No leaning forward or backwards for 4 hours after
  • Avoid makeup that day
  • No rubbing the face
  • No activity with excessive heat.
